How do I reprogram my tv channel scan?
Occasionally, Long Lines may change or move a channel in our lineup. To ensure you see all channels available to you, you will need to re-scan your channels. All TVs are different, refer to your owners manual. Find and press the "Menu" or "Settings" button to see the TV's internal menu. Find and press "Setup", "Settings", "Installation" or "System". Search and press "Channels" or "Channel Scan". Find and press "Autoscan", "Autoprogram" or "Autotuning" to begin the scan through all your channels and reprogram the TV. (This could take up to 30 minutes.) Once complete, exit the menu.

What is a digital box?
It's a box that converts digital programming to analog so it can be viewed on a TV set. Services included with a digital box include Universal Remote, Menu Navigation, Digital Music, Pay-Per-View, and Video on Demand.
Do I need to buy a new TV?
No, digital cable is run through the existing cable in your home.
Can I get digital services on all my TV's?
Yes, we can install a digital box on all your TV's. Your TV's that do not have a digital box will carry basic cable TV.
How is digital installed at my home?
A Long Lines technician will come to your home and set up the digital box.
How does Long Lines choose the networks it carries?
Many different factors contribute to the selection of programming including cost, subscriber demand, ratings, availibility or open channels on our cable system, and whether or not there are similar channels in our lineup.

What is HDTV?
High-definition television (HDTV) is a digital television format, delivering theater-quality pictures and CD-quality sound. HDTV has been described as the most dramatic change for viewers since the introduction of color TV.
What kind of TV do I need for HDTV?
You will need to purchase a digital television capable of displaying a high-definition signal, which uses either the 1080i or 720p format (Most HDTV's will display these formats.)
What are some of the enhanced features I will notice with my HDTV?
With HDTV, you will notice higher picture sharpness, a wider picture, more colors, and digital quality sound. Ultimately, the picture will look more like the movies and add the feeling of realism to TV.
When will more HD channels be available?
The television network must provide their programming in HD in order for cable companies to offer it. Long Lines is currently working with several networds to add more HD channels to our package.

What is DVR?
A DVR (Digital Video Recorder) is an enhanced Digital Cable set-top box that uses a built-in hard drive to record and store your favorite shows so you can access them anytime.
Some of the popular DVR features include:
- Pause live shows at any time, and resume later
- Record over 60 hours of TV without a VCR
- Use instant replay to jump back approximately 8 seconds during any live show
- Record show by title, time of day, or channel
Will I need to purchase any special equipment to use the DVR?
No purchase is necessary. You can rent a DVR from us for $17 a month.
Can I get DVR on all my TV's?
Yes, we can install a DVR on all your TV's for $17/month for each DVR.
Can I use a DVR I purchased from another electronics dealer?
Yes, but it is not advised. Setting up a DVR system from other vendors with your Long Lines box may be confusing and you will need to set up and support the DVR system yourself. If you have problems with your DVR, we will not be able to assist you. |
